IPM LIVE!!!

This is HUGE!!!

If you have time, if you do ANY AIESEC related reading this should be it!!!

Only about 200 AIESECers Experience this meeting a year, now we can all share in the experience with IPM LIVE!!!

http://live.myaiesec.net/

Election stuff!!! AIESEC 2010 Roadmap!!! Interact LIVE!!!

Update: The PAI speeches are uploaded!!! We'll know in about a day who the next PAI is!!!

Update 2: History has just been made!!! For the 4th time EVER, and the first time since 1998, we have a female PAI!!! People Development/Talent Management just became an even a bigger deal!!!

I'm sure a lot of us were following it live, anyways here are all 4 of them starting with the first:

1980-1981 - Joan Wilson - CANADA
1996-1997 - Marianne Knuth - Denmark
1998-1999 - Heather Blahnik - United States
2007-2008 - Gabriela Albescu - Romania

Gabitza has not been an MCP, there are no set paths, ever.

Next up Directors (we'll know Friday) and then VPs (we'll know Sunday)!!!

Update 3: They uploaded final speeches and a video of the announcement!!!

Quote from IPM: "hey - met JK, he's pretty cool!" :)

Update 4: Directors Announced!!! One of the biggest announcement of the year, imagine a job where you know that you will visit many different countries!!! I can't wait until we know who is responsible for each region!!!

WENA Director - Rob (UK/Thailand)
Africa Director - JC (Norway)
SSGN Director - Juan (Costa Rica/China)
CEE Director - Ivan (Colombia)
MENA Director - Tamer (Egypt)
AP Director - Shirley (US/Canada)

Update 5: Pictures have been uploaded onto the IPM Live website!!! Interestingly "Official Dinner" is in the middle of the conference, the country hosting has their country night as the final dinner of the conference. VP announcements tomorrow!!!

Update 6: Director speeches uploaded!!! VP announcements very soon, Global Legislation right now!!! (follow it live from http://mcpakistan.nomadlife.org) Nomadlife is being updated faster than IPM Live!

Update 7: GLOBAL FOCUS AREAS 2007-2008!!! External positioning, Finance, Exchange growth & Information management. There will be 1 more focus area chosen by AI 2007-2008, how will you contribute to AIESEC??? (thanks Isabel for emailing me the GFAs!)

Update 8: How many countries is AIESEC in??? 103!!! Legislation sounds like it must have been incredible!!! Went twice as long as scheduled! I've been hyping it up for a while but it seems to have lived up to it. Looking forward to output!!!

Update 9: And it's over! The spam feature on AIESEC.net is down (NOT ACCEPTABLE) so you may not have read the latest version of the International Newsletter i'm looking forward to seeing who applies for AI manager positions (there could be a new one this year, expansion manager!) anyways, as some of you may have already heard below is the VP announcement. What is it with conferences that run past the allocated agenda time? No matter what level in the organization there is inefficiency everywhere! Should be an interesting year as some of the positions were held for 2 years. I was worried that only 2 people applied for VPXM, let's hope they find the right person soon.

VP Communication - Michelle Gallant (AI / Canada)
VP Finance - Laura Johnson (UK)
VP External Relations - Rishabh Chopra (India)
VP Information Systems- Abhishek Singh Jadon (AI / India)
VP Talent Management - Betty Abayo (Africa GN / Kenya)
VP Exchange Management - Position to be re-opened...

Update 10: Does anyone which Director is allocated to which GN? Also, it's March 1st! Good luck 07-08 teams! Looking forward to reading your plans in 2 weeks, but mostly to seeing your results!!!

Update 11: Which GNs each Director announcement has been found (I updated above, thanks again Isabel, found it before me again!)

AI Applications!!!

One of the most exciting times on AIESEC.net is here! (another one being after conferences, especially international ones)

AI applications are online & available for us to all read through! http://www.aiesec.net/members/global/file-storage/index?folder%5fid=54715391

This year is really exciting since there are 44 candidates, I know a number of them including the Canadians. This is always such a great source of inspiration & helps broaden your perspective in AIESEC.

This International Presidents Meeting (IPM) should be incredible as not only will there be AI election/selection & deciding on the Global Focus Areas, there will also be implementing a lot of important things that AI was mandated to work on (check the International Compendium for detail)

Hey Egypt, ready or not, here they come:

Shirley Ma & John Kelly, MCP & MCPe, AIESEC Canada
