Let's get it started!!!

Here in Edmonton, way to early to be up, even earlier if I use EST, just a quick post about a good chat I had today.

On the way from the airport to the hotel I had a long conversation with the cab driver, who was a financial analyst in the US but couldn't find work in the field for a similar amount here. We discussed things from immigration policy to economy of the city to politics

What a way to start things!!!

The Power of 1

Sometimes all it takes is one thing, big or small, just 1 thing to make all the difference, postive or negative.

It's incredible how much power 1 thing can have.

Dancing Lessons!

So there are AIESEC conferences going on somewhere in the world almost all the time, & with the opening plenary/roll calls/line dancing/jives/clubbing at night you'd think that we run some kind of dancing school.

I found this recently, FINALLY I can keep up with others!

Person of the Year

I found this link http://www.impoy.com which lets me choose a picture I want displayed of someone who I thought should be Time Magazine's Person of the Year.

I didn't think the picture I submitted would get chosen, but it did!!!

Who did I select?

These vain people are who I would say had the most influence on this world in 2006.

And now New York knows! (this is not a photoshoped picture, it is a webcam shot of the image in Times Square http://206.188.22.18/default.aspx?detail_id=3595)

Personal Assistant!

From Wikipedia:

A personal assistant, personal aide, or PA for short, is someone who assists in daily personal tasks. For example, a business person may have a personal assistant to help with their correspondence and run errands.

Hold on, it gets better:

The more high-profile a person is, whether he/she is a celebrity, professional athlete, minister, politician, attorney or entertainment executive, the more necessary it is for him/her to be able to concentrate on performing the most important tasks included in his/her career.

I say this because this is what I feel like I am. I am Tai An's (AIESEC Canada's Vice President of Finance) Personal Assistant. I can't think of anyone more high-profile than Tai.

The most interesting thing is once you help Tai in anyway, no matter how small, she responds as follows: http://www.hallmark.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ecard%7C10001%7C10051%7C664858%7C-102001;11443;-102034;92055%7C%7CP1R14SO%7Cecards
