I was again not at this conference, not sure if I ever will be, but thanks to the extensive use of youtube by some AIESEC members, I found this funny video:

Punishment...

Some people in Pakistan think it's funnier to release pictures/videos late, like after people have forgotten about somehting & then we can laugh about them all over again.

I was sent one of these videos, this is me, being punished at AIESEC Pakistan's July National Conference 2006, by having to drink egg mixed with juice mixed with god knows whatelse!!! I was punished there more than I have ever been punished in Canada (which isn't a challenge, it's just a fact)

Q3 DAAL Files!

I'm not going to lie, this isn't the most exciting blog post, that's almost entirely because of it being October so i'm almost exclusively thinking about midterms & assignments due

I find it interesting that WENA has the most LCs, are supplying the most SNs (in DT, ET & MT) & the most TNs (in MT & TT)

It seems that a lot of MCs have began doing exchanges from national offices (more than 10% of current exchanges) which I guess means that more LCs are running projects (ideally around exchange) & managing national accounts. I know for me one of the biggest learnings from AIESEC was sales & I guess since the culture of LCs has become to have newer members always pushed to selling, there's less retention & less sales. But I mean, we do need exchanges to happen for AIESEC to exist.

Anyways, i'm sure you got the spam about Q3 DAAL files, it was sent to at least 3 different AIESEC.net communities

Maybe this is our reality because we haven't done anything about why exchange numbers are dropping. We need the right members, doing the right work.

Every day...

Dear AIESEC Pakistan

I wasn't going to post this as it is a little outdated, but I think it's very fitting since I just finished writing my CEED report, I still haven't posted about JNC or IC, & at this rate i'm not sure when i'll get to, but I definily won't forget those conferences, this weekend has been interesting going from feeling ready to make that jump to the next level to feeling like an alumni

Dear AIESEC Pakistan,

We need to talk. This isn't easy for me to say, but I feel it's best
that you hear it from me. We knew going into this that it wasn't going
to be a long term thing. It's not you, it's me, I just have so many
other things going on right now. I'm sorry but i'm leaving you. I know
in time we will agree that we can still be friend. I'll always
remember the times we had together.

For 17 years I have been in Canada travelling short distances if at
all. It took 2 years before I decided to contact AIESEC & find more
information about this organization. I decided to learn more & started
helping where I could when I could.

I have not been in AIESEC for very long. I have lost balance in my
life as I was striving to excel in the AIESEC work I was doing. My
summers are usually spent working or studying. Given the opportunity
to go to another AIESEC country & work with an MC or an LC over the
summer, I applied & was selected to come to Pakistan.

I spent 9 weeks in Pakistan. I never thought I would be there in my
life but now am trying to find a way to go back! Starting from
resolving visa issues & being in Lahore when LUMS students had exams,
to helping to facilitate at July National Conference in Karachi & many
things in between, I wanted to thank all of you for being there to go
through this experience with me. I could truly be myself & connect
with you personally & professionally.

I have learnt a lot in my time in AIESEC & tried to share some of
those things with you while I was there. Forgetting to pack a camera &
spending most of my time doing AIESEC work most of my memories from my
time in Pakistan is in working with & spending time with you the
members & I will remember you all for different reasons at different
times.

I know that you have changed my life for the better & I hope I did
also. I may have become a small part of you for a short period of
time, but you have all become small parts of me, making my time in
Pakistan a big part of me which I won't ever forget.

Lastly, I wish you the best of luck with everything that you do, stay in touch,

Puneet Duggal
